From defense to evangelization.
Catholics in heavily Protestant areas often find themselves playing defense—constantly answering objections while allowing others to determine the questions. We want to change that.
Through Catholic Converts of Arkansas, an initiative of Second Spring Media, we will make the positive case for Catholic Christianity while challenging the assumptions underlying Protestant Christianity itself. We want to do more than answer objections; we want to ask better questions and invite our neighbors to reconsider the foundations of their faith and encounter the Church in her fullness.
This is a work of conviction and charity, born of our love for Arkansas and our desire to see its people prosper spiritually. We want to reach beyond those who already seek us out, bringing serious theological conversation to people who may never have considered becoming Catholic.
What We Intend to Pursue
These are some of the concrete initiatives we intend to pursue as the opportunity and finances allow. Each one is meant to move Catholic conversation beyond the people who already seek it out and into the wider life of Arkansas.
Offensive Measures
- Billboards that ask direct questions about Scripture, authority, and the Church
- Paid Facebook, Instagram, and digital advertising
- Newspaper and local-media advertising
- Public debates and theological presentations that invite people into serious engagement
Community for Converts
- Reading groups for converts, returning Catholics, and those exploring the faith
- Monthly meet-ups that make friendship and belonging possible
- Apologetics classes that equip Catholics to understand and share the faith
- Conversion stories and local fellowship through Catholic Converts of Arkansas
Consistent Theological Presence
- A podcast that brings theology and culture into conversation
- Ongoing apologetics and Early Church History classes
- Articles, videos, and conversations that make the Catholic tradition accessible
- A steady public witness to the depth and beauty of Catholic Christianity
